Through no fault of our own, we often find that our shoes begin to develop an odor. This is especially prevalent during the summer months when we’re far more active and a lot sweatier, but there’s a quick and simple solution to getting rid of that smell, and it’s probably already present in your home. This may surprise you, but teabags, a staple in most homes, are a cheap and surprisingly effective way of freshening up your shoes.

All you need to do is, after using the teabags to brew your tea, dry them with a paper towel before placing them inside your smelly shoes, near the toe. Leave them in overnight and allow them to work their magic. Due to teabags being excellent at absorbing odors, the offending smells are drawn out of your shoes and into the used teabags, meaning that all you need to do the next morning is remove the teabags from your shoes and toss them into the trash.
