Just When We Thought We Knew Everything About Pyramids…

The Great Pyramid of Egypt has been one of the most fascinating landmarks in the entire world. Throughout the past several centuries, humankind has been constantly studying the findings inside and has come up with the conclusion that we pretty much have found everything the structure has to offer.

But now mankind’s impressive technology lets scientists see inside the Pyramid. Imaging technology called muogrpahy has allowed researchers to see inside the Great Pyramid. The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities authorized the engineering faculty at Cairo University to launch the new technology company called ScanPyramids. Their capabilities allow them to basically X-Ray large objects and see right through them by recording particles called muons. These molecules are highly penetrative as millions pass through our body everyday. Just as X-Rays give us a picture of our skeleton, muons can pass through large objects such as rocks and mountains.

Scientists have come to believe that they have found two new cavities inside the 4,500-year-old structure. The team was able to find a void behind the pyramid’s descending corridor. Late last year excavators were also able to distinguish the exact shape, size and position of this new found void. They believe the void is a tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu.
