She had noticed the Indians loved arts. They had so much to offer in the world of art from hand crafts to dance not forgetting the field of writing, something that touched her heart. She wanted to use arts to rescue people suffering from various kinds of abuse in India and thus the name ‘Rescue arts’.
Rebecca says, “One thing I have found out about India is that they have so much love for arts. Go to a wedding and find everyone dancing on the dance floor unlike here in America where everyone is so conscious abo themselves. The people here are so full of life! We can bring healing through arts.”
Rebecca goes on to explain how she met Savita a young girl who had a touching life story.
“I met Savita a young girl who had a sad life story. I asked her to write the story but she could not. She said she had not nothing to write about. Later that night I heard a knock on my door and guess who? It was Savita and she was ready to tell her story. She told me of her sad story. She had lived with a strange family for seven solid years. As if not enough, the family had abused her and taken advantage of her. How sad. It was really sad listening to hers story. I wanted to rescue the girl from her trauma. “Explains Rebecca.
